We are looking for the oldest Appaloosa in the world!

If you own it you could win a cool $250. That will buy yourself and your horse a very nice little birthday party. Here are the rules.

There is no cost to enter. You may enter once per horse. Your horse must be or have been registered with the ApHC (Appaloosa Horse Club)**. Your horse must still be alive as of the contest end date Jan. 1, 2010. All entries eligible for prices at that time will be verified to determine the winner. That’s it. The owners of this site make all the final decisions, as to the age of the horse and who is the oldest. You can also donate on this site and all added money will be given to the next oldest horse in $100 increments until all the money is handed out.

Please submit your horses if they are up in age as things can change at any time and we want to show off all of these old beautys.  To submit your entries just use the Add Your Appaloosa form on the website. You need to include the birthdate and the registration number so we can verify everything when the contest ends. All entries will be reviewed prior to posting to prevent spam.

** The Appaloosa horse club only tracks horses until the first Jan after their 30th birthday. After that they are marked as “Deceased”. Many of these horses are of course still alive. For this reason, registration papers may be submitted for a horse even if the ApHC currently lists them as “Deceased”.  This actually was what spawned the idea in the first place.

Thanks,
Bill Thiel
